Tiago Pinto says the similarities between his ideas and Friedkin’s was the reason that he chose to join Roma from the Portuguese side Benfica.
, is ready to start his post at the club following his appointment in November.
“I’ve spoken with [Dan and Ryan] Friedkin and we have the same ideas,”
he told Benfica’s official TV
“When I arrive I will understand the work that has to be done. They wanted me for me for what I did here at Benfica. I’m going there to modernize their sporting department.
“Serie A is a very unpredictable league, like all the most important ones in Europe. Big sides are suffering from lack of audience. The most important thing is to create a winning mentality, play game by game and then achieve our targets," he continued.
"I have tried to prepare myself best for this farewell. Although it is my will, Benfica is much more than a job.
“It’s a great pain to leave the club. It was the love of my life and it was a very thoughtful decision, but I felt it was time to embrace this new challenge.”
