Wed 30 December 2020 | 19:44

The Amazon expert's remarks drew criticism from the owner of the Leeds club.

Leeds

owner Andrea Radrizzani defended the club's tweet criticizing a pundit who claimed that Leeds could reach the Premier League because of the Covid-19 virus.

Karen Carney, a former England women's national team player who has played 144 caps, was a pundit on Amazon Prime Sport's live coverage of Leeds' 5-0 win over West Brom, claiming that the club benefited from the Coronavirus pandemic and was able to reach the Premier League.

Leeds Club mocked the comments in a tweet, writing: "🤔 “Promoted because of Covid” 🙂 Won the league by 10 points👋 Hi

Now Radrizzani also defended the club's tweet and criticized Carney. He tweeted:

“I take the responsibility of the club tweet.

“I consider that comment (from Carney) completely unnecessary and disrespectful to our club and particularly to the fantastic hard work of our players and coaches whom were understanding on the pitch for the last two Championship seasons by all stats.”

Bielsa's side gained 93 points in 46 games , 10 points clear of second place West Brom.
