David De Gea

said that he is confident with his form amid

Dean Henderson

.

After De Gea’s return to Old Trafford following his success at

Sheffield United

on loan, there is a question that who is the club’s number one player now, with De Gea has been in this position for the last nine years.

But it seems that the competition has put pressure on him and he recently has performed well in the

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

squad.

De Gea pulled off a couple of good saves to deny

Romain Saiss

in Red Devil’s 1-0 victory over

Wolves

at Old Trafford and he is satisfied with his performance.

"I feel very confident, to be honest. I feel well,"

De Gea said.

"I am happy every time I can help the team like today, make some big saves to keep the clean sheets.

"The whole team, I think we played a good game so, yeah, I'm really happy."

With this victory, Manchester United reached second place in the table and is two points away from

Liverpool

. They showed that they have the potential to compete at the top.

"I think we have now a winning mentality and this is very important for the team. All of us want to win, we keep trying until the end," the goalkeeper explained.

"The manager wants us to try until the end. It was great to see the team trying to score until the last minute and then we scored a goal, so it's perfect for us.

"We won a massive three points and now we'll try to recover as soon as possible and be ready for the next game."

Red Devils will face

Aston Villa

on New Year’s Day and the Spaniard expects to be ready for the clash despite colliding with Adama Traore in the second half of Tuesday night’s win.
