The Argentine coach believes that the ban against his team's defender was unfair.
coach Diego Simeone has criticized the rules that preventKieran Trippier
from joining his squad.
Kieran Trippier will not be able to play for any team, either nationally or nationally, for another 10 weeks due to a breach of the rules of the English Football Association, which prohibits football players from betting. The English defender has emphasized that he has never benefited from betting on football. This justification, however, was not enough to forgive his offense, which is why he will miss Atletico Madrid's game against Chelsea in the round of 16 of the Champions League and La Liga games against Getafe, Alavés, Athletic, Sevilla, Eibar, Valencia, Cádiz, Celta, Granada, Leante and Villarreal.
In addition to being banned from all football-related activities for 10 weeks, he has been fined £70,000. Now Diego Simeone has criticized the deprivation of his team defender.
He told Reuters
: “We think it’s unfair and we hope it can be revised because of the damage done to Atletico.
“Atletico obviously have absolutely nothing to do with this situation so we hope it can be re-assessed in some way, because while the FA benefits from this, Atletico is harmed by it and has nothing to do with it.
“But the circumstances are what they are and we’ll have to live with it.”
