Houssem Aouar, in January transfer window as Arteta decided to look for new players elsewhere.
Though the Gunners hoped to sign the 22-year-old in the summer, their offer was rejected since it was believed to be below the player’s actual worth. This event led Arsenal to sign
Atletico Madridplayer,
Thomas Partey, instead.
In return Aouar expressed his happiness with Lyon, saying:
“I am very happy to be here, I took the decision to stay with the club that formed me, I savour every day I have here."
After giving up on the Lyon player, Arsenal seem to have shifted their attention into signing
Norwich City’s
Emiliano Buendia,
Bayer Leverkusen’s
Julian Brandt, and
Sevilla’s
Joan Jordan.
