Tony Pulis was sacked by Sheffield Wednesday as he was not able to live up to the club’s expectations.
only after 45 days since his appointment.
His dismissal was after two days since their 1-1 draw againstBlackburn
which was his 10th game in charge.
The club announced their decision late on Monday night, with chairman
indicating issues on and off the pitch were the reasons.
Chansiri stated: “The performances and results have not been of the level expected since Tony Pulis was appointed. There are also other issues which have had a bearing on this decision.
“On the pitch, seven points from a possible 30 is not acceptable. It is vital we maintain our Championship status and I feel I must make a change now with over half of the season remaining to give us the best possible chance of doing so.”
Pulis was appointed on November 13 and since then he has only won once in the game against Coventry on December 19.
The club stated that the first-team coach Neil Thompson is going to take charge until they find a permanent replacement.
Sheffield Wednesday are now the second bottom of theChampionship
table with 13 points.
