Paris Saint-Germain have officially confirmed the dismissal of their former boss, Thomas Tuchel.

Six days after

Paris Saint-Germain

told their coach

Thomas Tuchel

that he had to leave the club, the Parisian club has finally confirmed that the German boss has been sacked.

Tuchel

was sacked after taking PSG to the

Champions League

final just four months ago.

Mauricio Pochettino

is expected to replace Tuchel after the official announcement of the German's dismissal. Pochettino is said to have already signed a contract with the Parisian club.

Tuchel had been sacked by PSG on Wednesday last week, just hours after his side's victory over

Strasbourg

in Ligue 1.

Paris Saint-Germain issued a short statement today announcing that they have decided to sack Thomas Tuchel after a thorough review of the club's current situation.

PSG president,

Nasser Al-Khelaifi

said:

"I would like to thank Thomas Tuchel and his staff for everything they brought to the club.

"Thomas has put a lot of energy and passion into his work, and of course we will remember the good times we shared together. I wish him the best for his future."
