Wijnaldum at a crossroad: Barcelona or Liverpool?

Tue 29 December 2020 | 7:37

Liverpool star, Gini Wijnaldum is still uncertain about his future.

Georginio Wijnaldum

has asked the club for more time to consider his options.

The Guardian

claims that the Dutch star, whose contract expires next summer, can start negotiating with interested clubs from the beginning of the January transfer window.

It seems that

Jurgen Klopp

have not yet been able to convince Wijnaldum to sign a new contract, as the experienced midfielder has asked for more time to consider different options.

Liverpool made a new offer for the 30-year-old in early December, but Wijnaldum has not yet made a decision and has assured them that he will inform Liverpool of his decision before starting negotiations with other clubs.

This is a great new for

Ronald Koeman

. Barcelona tried to sign him this summer, but it did not happen.

If Wijnaldum doesn’t settle an agreement with the Reds, Barcelona will have the best chance to sign the Dutch midfielder for free next summer.

Of course,

Inter Milan

also seem to be interested in signing Wijnaldum, and Inter CEO,

Giuseppe Marotta

has proven over the past decade that he is an expert in signing free agents.
