Hajduk Split defender Mario Vuskovic’s father has claimed there are a number of clubs that are interested in signing him.
He has played two games for Croatia under-21 national team and is a regular for the squad, with a contract that expires in 2024.
“I want to point out straight away that I have not spoken directly to any director or representative of Napoli. However, some agents who are dealing with moving players between Croatia and Italy told me that Mario is being watched carefully by three or four important Serie A clubs.
“I won’t name the clubs out of respect, but they really are very interested in my son. Serie A is a great league and who wouldn’t want to play there? I’d be an important step in Mario’s career.”
Pressed on the Napoli rumors, Vuskovic's father was very careful.
“I repeat, I have not had any direct contact with Napoli, but we are talking about a top club, at the highest level. We’re happy in Split, let it be clear, but we’ll see what happens.
“The Hajduk directors told me the club coffers aren’t exactly overflowing, so he could leave with the right offer. We’ll know more over the next few weeks.”
