Arsenal has confirmed that Gabriel recently had close contact with someone who tested positive and quarantined as a precaution. His quarantine continued during Arsenal's 3-1 win over Chelsea, and now that Gabriel's test is positive, he will miss the games against Brighton and West Brom.

The club said in a statement:

"Gabriel has tested positive for Covid-19 and is isolating according to UK Government and Premier League protocols. We will continue to monitor and support Gabriel, and we are hoping he will be available again after our next two matches."

The Brazilian defender is not the only player to miss the game against Brighton, and David Luiz and Willian are among the players who will miss the Gunners' final match in 2020. Arsenal has confirmed that Willian and David Luiz still do not feel good, so they lost the match against Chelsea. However, the test of both of them has been negative.
