“We’ll see, we’ll see” Sergio Ramos spoke of his contract extension

Sun 27 December 2020 | 18:52

The case of Sergio Ramos‘ contract renewal with Real Madrid is something that rumbles on into the new year.

Supposedly, both

Ramos

and his brother and agent Rene are eager to continue at

Madrid

, and the club would want the same.

Ramos

's comments upon his arrival at the airport after the Christmas break were not assuring. After being asked about his new deal, the center-back replied “

we’ll see, we’ll see

”.

Madrid

and

Ramos

are said to not feel their developing agreement to be in any danger.

Luka Modric, another

Madrid

veteran whose deal was due to end this summer, is upon confirming a new deal expected to be a year’s extension with a salary reduction.

This is the topic where they argue. The Andalusian wants a two-year deal, which is usually not offered to players over the age of 30.

He’d also like to receive an annual salary of the €12m net he currently receives.

It’s big money to ask for a player of his age but

Ramos

’ leadership of the dressing room and value to the team is universally known. As he said, we’ll just have to see.
