have announced that they have signed
for theWestfield W-League
Tonkin is an extremely versatile player and can play anywhere across the defense and as a holding midfielder.
She has appeared 14 times during which she was able to score three goals with Football SA NTC in the local Women’s National Premier League (WNPL) season this year.
“I’m extremely happy to be at Adelaide United,” Tonkin said.
“I could barely sleep the night before I knew I was signing my contract because I was so excited about it.
“As a team, a big goal of ours is definitely to make finals, but personally I want to get some more W-League games under my belt and build myself as a player.”
Adelaide United’s Westfield W-League Head Coach Adrian Stenta is also excited about signing her.
“It's fantastic to have Ella on board for the new season,” he said.
“Ella made her W-League debut last season, so she has had a taste of what is required to play at this level.
“She impressed again in the WNPL this year with the NTC and we believe Ella has the attributes to progress and be successful in this league.”
Adelaide United’s Head of Women’s Football Ivan Karlović believes Tonkin could strengthen the depth of their defense and midfield.
“Ella’s addition further strengthens the depth in our defense and midfield and is someone that will continue to improve by training in an elite environment,” he said.
