Wolves interested in Real Madrid striker

Sun 27 December 2020 | 13:06

Wolverhampton are reportedly interested in signing Real Madrid striker, Luka Jovic.

In the summer of 2019,

Real Madrid

paid €60 million to

Eintracht Frankfurt

to sign

Luka Jovic

, but the player have failed to meet the expectations so far.

Jovic came to Madrid upon the request of the boss himself,

Zinedine Zidane

, but the French coach has apparently lost confidence in the player. He has been sidelined because of injuries most of this season and also lost three weeks due to being infected with coronavirus.

Jovic

is yet to score for Real this season and has not had much opportunity to play. He has played 32 games for Real so far, scoring just two goals. He has played 200 minutes in 5 games this season and is yet to score.

According to

Sky Sports

,

Wolverhampton

have made an offer to Real to sign the Serbian striker. Wolves forward,

Raul Jimenez

suffered a serious head injury in a collision with

David Luiz

, which kept the Mexican striker out of action, and the Wolves are now looking to sign Jovic to replace him in the second half of the season.

Wolves had initially spoken to

Valencia

to sign

Maxi Gomez

, but were turned down by the club and turned to Jovic, who is now the English club's first choice.

It seems that in this economic crisis caused by the corona pandemic, if Wolves' offer is good, Real Madrid is likely to agree with the transfer.
