The former Dortmund player welcomes the relegation of the rival team to the lower division.
Former
Dortmundplayer Kevin
Großkreutz
has expressed hope that
Schalkewill be relegated, but at the same time, he will miss the Revierderby.
Schalke have not won in their last 29 Bundesliga games. The Royal Blues are at the bottom of the Bundesliga table with nine defeats and four draws in their 13 games this season. Kevin
Großkreutz
, who has been a Dortmund fan since he was a child and played for the team for six years, claimed that he welcomes the relegation of the rival team to the lower division, but he will miss the derby.
He told Sport1:
“Of course I would be happy for one year, we don’t even have to talk about that. I think all of Dortmund will celebrate, everyone would be happy if Schalke had to be relegated. That was also the case in the past, when the Blues hoped that we would be relegated in 2007, when we were in a bad phase.”
“But after a year or two, the derby will certainly be missed. The Blues have done a lot wrong, they are responsible for that themselves. It’s certainly difficult for them, but that’s not my problem.”
