Following his appearances as a substitute,
was handed his first start in a 2-1 win over Werder Bremen on Tuesday to become the youngest player ever to start a match in the Bundesliga.
The 16-year-old has also set other records so far this season, becoming the youngest player to make his debut for Dortmund in the Bundesliga and then the Champions League’s youngest player.
Moukoko will now look to score his first senior goal for the club to become the youngest Bundesliga goal scorer as well.
Edin Terzic, the assistant coach, has taken over from Favre for the rest of the season, and he has promised that his team will display attacking football.
"I'm a product of Borussia Dortmund. I come from the region and have been a fan for ages," Terzic said on Monday. "I've been working here for 10 years now and I'm shaped by the past.
"There are two ways you can win a football game: you can concede fewer goals, or you can always try to score one more. I'm more for the latter."
