Gerard Houllier dies at the age of 73

According to some reports, the former Ligue 1 and Premier League manager passed away on Monday.

, who had the chance to coach several clubs throughout his career including

Liverpool

Aston Villa

,

Paris Saint-Germain

, and

Lyon

, passed away at the age of 73 on Monday. According to RMC Sport, the time of death for the former manager was recorded to be early in the morning.

During his time as a Liverpool coach, Houllier was able to win five titles before joining Lyon and winning a Ligue 1 title with them. He also had the chance to coach Aston Villa following his career in Lyon. The Frenchman received the Legion d’honneur for his services to French football in 2002, alongside an honorary OBE for his efforts in England. Another award, which he was awarded in 2001, was the European Coach of the Year prize.
