in Goodison Park. It was the first time Everton fans were allowed to come to the stadium after the Covid-19 outbreak.

Ancelotti admits that the fans played their part in their 1-0 victory over in-form Chelsea.

“We only had 2,000 but the atmosphere was completely different. I'm really happy for this and I hope all of the crowd will be full as soon as possible.”

Ancelotti knew that his side needed that performance and in particular, praised the defensive work from his squad in managing to Lampard’s side.

“Yeah, we needed this performance and these points,”

he added.

“I think that, after a difficult period, we were able to move on. Now we are showing more consistency.

“Tonight the performance was really good, you cannot win against Chelsea without a good performance.

“Defensively we were really good. We didn't concede opportunities, only two set pieces for shots outside the box.

“Our team play was really good because I think we were really well organised with defenders and midfielders. The effort of the team was top."
