Inzaghi warns Lazio will have to get used to results like home defeat to Verona.
Tonight at Stadio Olimpico, Lazio lost 2-1 to Verona. Lazio have not had good conditions in the last few games and have won only one match in 5 games. The Aquile advanced to the Champions League's knockout phase after a 2-2 draw with Club Brugge, but it seems that the players' tiredness prevented them from performing well tonight.
We knew that we could have some problems. The team put in the performance, though, as we created so many chances and I don't remember Pepe Reina making a save
," Inzaghi told DAZN.
"However, when you make mistakes like that in defence, of course you're going to lose. The first shot was going wide and the second we gave it away cheaply.
"We know in Serie A that every game is unpredictable and difficult. Now we'll be back on the field in a couple of days and try to recover the points we lost today.
"Before the lockdown, with our fans in our stadium, we were infallible. Now the campaign is strange, we miss our supporters, largely because we have quite a few players whose mood can change based on atmosphere."
Simone Inzaghi will face his older brother Pipo on Tuesday.
"It's always an emotional occasion taking each other on. We won't have much time to prepare and we'll basically have to end up counting who is left over and available to play on Tuesday."
Francesco Acerbi, who is usually the main and regular player of the Inzaghi team, got injured after 28 minutes.
"He had a twinge, we'll know more over the next few days. Unfortunately, the fixture list is practically impossible. I had to rest Luiz Felipe too, as he couldn't play two 90-minute games in a row after a long time out, I had to use Marco Parolo on the right side of defence and he did well, but we'll try to see what we can do on Tuesday.
"It's too easy to think about missing Luis Alberto and the others, but we have to get used to it, that's what this season is like. We'll see if he can recover for Tuesday, but if not, then we'll aim for the next match.
"It's not just physical, some players are also fatigued on a psychological level and you saw that with the errors, it affects your concentration. We knew the Champions League would damage our Serie A form."
