After the elimination from the Champions League, Solskjaer was happy with his team performance against Citizens.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says this was his best performance against Manchester City.

After a bitter elimination from the Champions League,

Manchester United

hosted their compatriot

Manchester City

tonight in the English Premier League's twelfth week, which ended in a goalless draw.

City got good chances during the game, and Sergio Aguero's absence was undoubtedly felt in the squad.

However, United could not create many dangerous situations on the goal of Guardiola's side. Nevertheless, Solskjaer expressed his satisfaction with his team's performance after the previous defeat of Leipzig.

“In my time against City, that is the best performance we’ve had,”

Solskjaer told Sky Sports

. “Not the best result, but the best performance.

“I know we beat them a few times last season, but these were different games. This is the most we have been in the game, as in possession-wise and control and we kept them away from our box more.

"They had a few big moments. David [De Gea] a great save, standing up, and Harry [Maguire] a good block so that’s two big chances they had and maybe a foot offside for Marcus.

“Tactically, we knew they were going to give us some problems and I thought we were excellent defensively.”
