Former Leeds United striker and Erling Haaland’s father, Alf Inge Haaland, has opened up about his son’s speculations and his love for Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Erling Haaland

won the 2020 Tuttosport’s

Golden Boy

award to continue his stunning process as perhaps the hottest talent of the football world. His father talked about his son’s future, as well as his past, in an interview with the award’s organizer,

, revealing the offer he had from

before joining

“He was born a striker, and always adored players who scored lots of goals, but two in particular: Ibrahimovic and Cristiano Ronaldo,”

said Haaland Senior.

“He also had a weakness for Mario Balotelli at Manchester City. He’s never satisfied and trains constantly, because he wants to become the best. He’s super focused and lives for football.

“It’s easy to see how passionate he is, as if he scores two goals and is substituted, he gets angry because he wanted a third.”

There are already question marks about Haaland’s future, with Juventus, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Manchester United, PSG and Barcelona all expected to participate in the bidding war.

“He is very happy at Borussia Dortmund right now, but Erling loves a challenge and you can never know what the future holds in football. We’ll see…”

Juve are not entirely a new option, as they had been in negotiations before the transfer to Dortmund.

“It’s true. It was a wonderful experience, we went to watch Juventus-Inter and I was really impressed with the atmosphere at the Juventus Stadium.”
