Reports suggest that Lautaro Martinez was unhappy with Conte's decision after he got replaced in the second half.
Inter got knocked out of the Champions League after failing to beat Shakhtar. Lautaro Martinez was subbed off in the second half and according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, he was unhappy and disappointed by the decision of Antonio Conte.
Inter was held to a 0-0 draw and with this result, they failed to qualify for the next stage of the Champions League for the second season in a row.
“He shook his head, trying to make eye contact with the coach before sitting on the bench,”
the report claims.
“He also tried to make a gesture trying to gain his attention, but Conte remained focused on what happened on the pitch.”
This time around, Conte’s decision surprised him: “He seemed to be telling his coach: ‘Why are you replacing me when we need to score?’”
according to the report.
Lautaro Martinez was a priority for Barcelona during the summer transfer window as the young striker wished to play with his International teammate Lionel Messi who is not very satisfied in Barcelona as well.
