Former Real Betis’ director launches attack on Setien

Fri 11 December 2020 | 10:39

Serra Ferrer, who is on the verge of becoming Real Betis’ leader with his movement “another Betis is possible”, wouldn’t think of Betis’ former manager, Setien, very kindly.

Ferrer

believes the current project of the Seville club has run its course and his movement,

aligned with several important shareholders

, is the best alternative.

He had an interview with Onda Cero Sevilla on Thursday, and he had some interesting things to say about

Quique Setién

, who managed the club while he was the director.

Current

Betis’

leaders,

Angel Haro

and

Jose Miguel Lopez Catalan

, have accused Ferrer of being unfair with Setien in a written document.

“I’m a bit ashamed that a vice president can write these things,” Serra Ferrer said. “He’s talking about a coach who, with forgiveness, took the fans up the ***. He says that the fans of Huesca are better than that of Betis.”

Serra Ferrer also believes a structural change at Betis is essential.

“Nothing is eternal,”

he said.

“After five years, the current project shows signs of exhaustion. There are capricious decisions and the objectives should not be so mediocre.”

He doesn’t, however, see himself as becoming president.
