Paulo Fonseca admits ‘there were quite a few things I didn’t like’ about the 3-1 defeat to CSKA Sofia.

A heavy defeat against

CSKA Sofia

 accompanied the final game of

AS Roma

in the tournament's group stage. However, The Giallorossi had already secured first place in the group, so took the opportunity to give three youth academy players their first starts.

We lost and there were quite a few things I didn't like about the performance, but we also had a lot of reasons for that

told Sky Sport Italia.

"Our opponents proved to be clinical in attack, because they made the most of two bad errors to score two goals. They then defended in numbers and it was difficult to create many scoring opportunities, but the important thing is we mustn't repeat these errors.

"It was not easy for the young players. It's still a Europa League fixture and that brings with it responsibility, but they did well. I am pleased for them."

As the group leader, Roma will wait for the draw to know their opponent in the next round.

"We want to keep going in this tournament. It becomes more difficult from here on in, but they are all strong, so we'll see who we get."
