The Uruguayan striker, who joined Manchester United on a free transfer this summer, has reiterated the offers he rejected from Inter and Juventus in an interview with MondoNapoli.

The 33-year-old striker scored 104 goals in 138 games during his two years at

Napoli

before signing for

Paris Saint-Germain

in 2013. However, his love for the Partenopei was big enough to reject offers from Italian giants like

Juventus

and

Inter

during his time at PSG.

“Only thanks, I will always be grateful to them.

“It is for this reason that I said no to many Italian clubs, including Juventus, who called me often, and Inter too.

“I couldn’t make such a gesture to the Neapolitans. If I think of Naples, I think of joy. I know that I have done so much for them and they continue to pay homage to me with all this."
