‘Ziyech and Huson-Odei are going to be fit soon’ - Lampard

Wed 09 December 2020 | 9:32

According to Lampard, both players will be back in two weeks after suffering from a hamstring injury.

Chelsea

are relieved finding out that

Hakim Ziyech

and

Callum Hudson-Odei

’s injuries are not serious. The Blues attacking midfielder Ziyech sustained the injury in the

Premier League

clash against Leeds United. Hudson-Odei, on the other hand, was injured in the training.

Frank Lampard

, Chelsea manager, revealed after their

Champions League

1-1 tie with Krasnodar that both players will return soon.

The Blues will lock horns with Everton on Saturday in the Premier League and will then go to battle with Wolves and West Ham on December 15 and 21 sequentially.

"

Both players are hopefully going to be fit for a week on Wednesday,

" Lampard said.

"

They had scans which are showing the injuries will be two weeks, so that's positive, particularly with Hakim

.

"

With Callum we didn't know what to expect when he got injured in training a couple of days ago

."

If Chelsea were to win over Krasnodar, they would have had the highest points in the Champions League group stage. Chelsea boss admitted that his squad did not pull off their best but he praised

Billy Gilmour

, who made 83 passes with high accuracy and 97 touches making him the best on the field.

"

Billy Gilmour was very good on his first start this season. I'm very pleased. We wanted to win but that wasn't to be,

" Lampard said.

"

I liked the discipline of the team – they had some counter-attacking moments but nothing big

."

When asked if Gilmour will be transferred on loan, he added: "

Not sure. The way he trains and plays I can see him with us. I have to make sure the pathway is right.

"Everyone was pretty good. There weren't outstanding performances, but I asked the lads to be professional and they were.

"I don't think we can over-analyse the group stage – we've won the group and it's good progression

."

The Blues boss was also impressed by their ninth youngest player to debut in the Champions League for Chelsea,

Tino Anjorin

.

"

He is a work in progress, but the more he trains with us the better he will get

," Lampard said.

"

I thought he did well tonight with a good debut. In training he has showed a real ability to step straight into the level in terms of his ability on the ball.
