Monza have officially announced the arrival of Mario Balotelli and confirmed the former Italy international has signed a deal until June 2021.
Monza has officially confirmed that they have hired the Italy national football team's former star and signed a one-year contract with him. Monza has never reached Serie A in its history, making it the team that has participated in the most Italian second division seasons—39—without ever achieving promotion to the first division.
Balotelli was without a team after terminating his contract with Brescia.
Mario Balotelli comes to reinforce Monza and has signed a contract until June 30, 2021,"
the club wrote in a statement.
"[After a stint at Manchester City] Silvio Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani brought him back to Italy in January 2013, and he helped bring Milan to the Champions League by scoring 12 goals in Serie A.
"After a year and a half at the Rossoneri, with 26 goals in the League, he had a new prestigious experience in England with Liverpool. In January 2016, he returned to Milan, where he was also coached by Christian Brocchi, who now finds himself at Monza together with former Milan teammate Kevin-Prince Boateng.
"Balotelli is one of only seven footballers who from January 1, 2000, has scored at least 20 goals in three of the top five European Leagues. Welcome Mario!"
