We expect to go through, Maguire says before Leipzig game

Manchester United's captain says that no one in the squad is even thinking about Europa League.

After beating

PSG

at Paris and Leipzig with 5 goals, everyone expected

Manchester United

to reach to the knock-out stage of the Champions League easily. However, a bad defeat against Basaksehir and a 3-1 defeat at Old Trafford against PSG changed the situation.

If

RB Leipzig

manages to defeat the Red Devils, Manchester United should yet again play in the Europa League. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the captain,

Harry Maguire

however insist that no one in the team has even thought about going back to Europa League.

The Red Devils captain told a pre-match press conference:

“We expect to get through the group, no matter who is in our group. That is the tradition and as a group of players we fully expect to get through. We look forward to the game. All we can do is look after the performance.

“You play better teams with better players, that is just a fact. It is a challenge, one we want to be involved in, but we haven't even thought about the Europa League.”
