Neville expressed his feeling with the dutch midfielder.

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has claimed that he is sorry for  Donny van de Beek after the Dutch midfielder replaced at half time in a 3-1 win over West Ham.

United faced West Ham this week and, while still lagging behind, finally won 3-1.

The Red Devils

performed poorly in the first half and were down by one goal, and Solskjaer was forced to send in Bruno Fernandez and Marcus Rashford between the two halves. In between substitutions, van de Beek and Edinson Cavani left the field. Although Neville believes that Solskjaer had no choice but to make the substitution, but admitted he feels for Van de Beek.

“It’s not one Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would have thought about this morning,”

Neville said.

“He would’ve gone to Bruno and said ‘I’m going to leave you for Leipzig, I’m going to leave you for the Manchester derby’. But he would’ve said at half-time ‘I’m sorry I need you we’re not very good without you’.

“And that’s just a fact, without him they’re just not the same team. I feel a bit sorry for Van der Beek. He’s the one who has been sacrificed out of midfield. But it could have been any of them, all three of them in the first half were awful.”
