“The Estadi is literally falling down" - Interim president of Barca

Thu 03 December 2020 | 19:36

The team’s interim president Carlos Tusquets was discussing the financial situation and was asked why, in the middle of this economic situation, Barcelona had decided to resume works on the training facilities and Estadi Johan Cruyff.

As of last year, costing approximately €19m, the ground is now a UEFA Category 3 stadium that can house 6,000 fans.

The interim president has now insisted on the necessity to continue funding in the Camp Nou stadium and training facilities, which he emphasizes are old and in desperate need of help.

The Estadi is literally falling down and it has to be repaired. It has to be done. Pieces of the ceiling have fallen on the entrance door. Members cannot have pieces of the building hitting them on the day of the vote (of the presidential election).

The elections for the permanent president will be held in January 2021.
