Chelsea crushed Sevilla 4-0 at Basque in a Champions League game to secure the first place in Group E, as both sides were sure of their qualification.

Both clubs have started the season decently as the Londoners sitting third in the Premier League table, and Sevilla fifth in the La Liga’s. Knowing their qualification secured, both clubs were able to rest some of their key players for their Wednesday clash.

Olivier Giroud

was undoubtedly the man of the match, as the French scored all four goals of the match.

“The second goal hurt us a lot,”

Sevilla coach

Julen Lopetegui

said in his post-match interview.

“Until then we were in the game, thinking about making some substitutions, only for the goal to come at that moment.”

Sevilla is attending a crucial La Liga match against Real Madrid on Saturday, so, Sevilla's boss knows it’s necessary to take positives out of their defeat and leave the memory behind.

“We play ever three days and when we lose, just like when we win, we say the same thing,”

he said.

“We are qualified for the last 16 and we are among the best in Europe. There are many teams that are never going to achieve that.”
