Paolo Di Canio in shock to become next Celtic manager

Tue 01 December 2020 | 21:54

Celtic has been recommended to select Paolo Di Canio if they want to discharge Neil Lennon.

The Italian is out of work right now after working as Swindon and Sunderland manager in the past.

Di Canio

played a year at

Celtic

and Simon Ferry implies he would be the ideal man to replace Lennon after having worked under him at Swindon.

He said: "

One guy who I know would be a good short term fix would be Di Canio."

"

Not long term, but a short term fix. He would love it. See all the pressure it would not bother him.

"

"

See the making mistakes over and over again, he would have you on the training ground for five hours until it was better.

"

"

I think that is what this team need. He would not leave Lennoxtown until it was how he wanted it.

"

"

We would still be sitting there at half four some days watching videos. Especially on defending he is massive on not having the ball.

"

"

That is what Celtic need and as I say you love him for the first six months because he is chatty, charming, enthusiastic and knows the game inside out.

"

"

It is just whether those player could accept it. See Ntcham jogging back for that third goal in Europe - he would be pinned up against a wall. It is whether he has changed from being like that.

"

Kevin Kyle continued: "

Di Canio can do both. He can be that fiery animal and be that guy tactically.

"

"

I think they are needing someone who has both.

"
