Inzaghi: 'Lazio aren't done yet'

Tue 01 December 2020 | 18:39

Inzaghi warns Lazio they must beat Borussia Dortmund if they want to secure their Champions League Round of 16 ticket.

Lazio

will face

Dortmund

on Wednesday to be at the top of this

Champions League

group.

“We know that we are close to an excellent achievement, but there are still two games to go and we aren’t done yet,” the coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“We have a very important match tomorrow against, in my view, one of the best teams in Europe who have immense potential.”

They started the Champions League with strength, and even Covid-19 restrictions could not stop them from moving forward.

“We started this Champions League campaign on the right foot and reaching the final 16 would be a huge achievement for us. It’s a pity that we lost on Sunday to Udinese in Serie A, because a defeat can happen, but not like that. We paid for our arrogance, analyzed the match, and have to immediately press the reset button.

“We worked so hard over the last four or five years to get back into the Champions League and now we want to play it to the best of our abilities.”

It would be an exciting competition between the winner of the Golden Boot

Ciro Immobile

and possible future hitman

Erling Braut

.

“Immobile is so consistent, not just in the goals he scores, but also the contribution he brings to the team with his overall performances,” continued

Inzaghi

.

“Haaland is a great player, capable of finding the net in any game.”
