"When he's in on goal, he sticks it away"-Marco Rose on Lukaku

Tue 01 December 2020 | 10:43

Lukaku has done very well for Inter Milan this season, but the Mönchengladbach coach said in a pre-match press conference that this is not an obstacle for them to move forward.

Borussia Mönchengladbach coach believes that

Romelu Lukaku

is a full-fledged striker, but also stressed that they will focus only on their team's performance.

The Belgian striker of Inter Milan has scored nine goals in 11 matches this season. Lukaku also scored both goals for Inter Milan in the previous match between the two teams, which ended 2-2.

"

Romelu Lukaku has a big influence over the way Inter play,

" Rose said at a press conference. "

When he's in on goal, he sticks it away. He's a fantastic athlete

."

But Marco Rose says they are only thinking about how they can win the battle.

"We're focusing on ourselves. We have our principles on and off the ball, and we want to implement them so that we put in a good performance and get a result."

Rose confirmed that center-back Nico Elvedi would not play due to injury, but Tony Jantschke will play at the San Siro.

"[Elvedi] picked up a minor muscle injury in training yesterday and will miss out tomorrow. We have faith in the whole squad, though. Tony Jantschke will step up again."

Mönchengladbach will advance to the knockout phase if they win against Inter Milan.
