Mon 30 November 2020 | 18:55

Zidane has talked about Real Madrid’s recent situation before their UCL match.

Real Madrid

will face

Shakhtar Donetsk

in

Champions League

after a defeat in domestic competition in a game that they expected to win easily.

Commenting on their unexpectedly poor results in this season, Zidane says that they have been in bad situations before but have always got through it.

Here is what he said at the press conference ahead of their UCL clash:

“There have always been difficult moments at Real Madrid. There were tough times too when I was a player. But, we’ve always overcome them. This has been a strange year with the injuries and the lack of pre-season, which has an influence, but the motivation is never lost at this club. The players know where they are and what it means to play for Real Madrid. When we lose, I never view it as a motivational issue.”

He went on talking about Shakhtar clash and it’s importance for them:

“This is the most important match in the group because these three points can put us into the next round. That’s what we need to think about. It’s another final for us.”

Hazard

is injured again and the Belgium national team doctor has suggested that the pressure could be a reason for his recent injuries but Zidane doesn’t see it that way.

“No, he’s very strong. He’s frustrated, but injuries are happening at all teams. I have no doubts over Hazard and the player he is. I hope he can be back soon.”
