‘We aim to victory’ Ranocchia’s side hoping for qualification

Mon 30 November 2020 | 15:38

Inter Milan defender Andrea Ranocchia believes his side still has the chance to be qualified for the Champions League round of 16. He also comments on the recent Achraf Hakimi criticisms.

Inter

is going into battle with

Borussia Monchengladbach

tomorrow. The clash is believed to be of great importance. The Nerazzurri need to keep their ‘qualification hopes alive’ by winning.

"

Tomorrow we will face the game as it was the last one of the championships, with group spirit and desire to win

,”

Ranocchia

said.

We know that we are facing a strong team, with great individuality, but we are convinced by what we are building and we aim to victory, that's the only result we can get.

“Between a thousand difficulties we are still in the run for the qualification for the next stage,"

Ranocchia continued

.

"We can still think to go through and this must be our goal in the last two games. We are up there in Serie A. We had some games wrong, but we are there.

“The win against Sassuolo must boost our self-confidence for tomorrow’s game

.”

When asked about

Achraf Hakimi

being criticized for his performance on the pitch, he said:

At Inter you always try to pull it down and see the negative aspects, also when things are going well. When things are going wrong, it all seems to be wasted.

“Everything needs to be rationalized and read in the right way. We are in race for all our targets, we are at the beginning of the season.

“Now you attack Hakimi, but he comes from a different league and has to settle down.

"He has qualities, but I see Hakimi every day and it is wrong [to criticize him]. Players are given no time in big clubs, but often the judgments and prejudices are rushed, things must be seen in the right way

.”
