Coutinho left the doors open for Liverpool

Mon 30 November 2020 | 13:35

Barcelona’s midfielder is grateful for the role Liverpool played in his career and refused to deny a possible reunion.

The Brazil international expressed his feelings about his spell at

Liverpool

in an interview with World Soccer: “The Premier League is one of the most exciting leagues in the world. Having the opportunity to play for a team like Liverpool will always be something for which I will be grateful.

“It’s impossible to say what might or might not happen in the future. Right now my only goal is be successful with Barcelona.”

Although

Coutinho

struggled throughout his first 18 months at

Barcelona

following joining the club in 2018’s January, he has impressed this season since his return from injury in Barcelona’s Champions League victory against

Dynamo Kyiv

last Tuesday before scoring against

Osasuna

yesterday.

He spent last season on loan at

Bayern Munich

, where he won a treble with the German side, as well as contributing to Barcelona’s

8-2

defeat

in the Champions League with two assists and a goal.

Coutinho’s future was unclear throughout this summer, as he was linked to

Arsenal

and even being rumored to asking

Klopp

to re-sign him in a phone call. However, he’s now an important part of

Ronald Koeman’s

team with regaining the form that earned him a place among the Blaugrana’s starters.
