Wolves striker, Raul Jimenez, was rushed to a hospital and has undergone surgery on a fractured skull after colliding heads with Gunners defender David Luiz during his side’s Premier League victory at Emirates.
was taken out of the field early as he had an awful collision with
over the attempt for a header in the box. He was immediately taken to a London hospital for treatment.
The club has confirmed that
has had surgery and he needs to stay in the hospital for a few days to recover.
“Raul is comfortable following an operation last night, which he underwent in a London hospital," the statement reads.
“He has since seen his partner Daniela and is now resting. He will remain under observation for a few days while he begins his recovery.
“The club would like to thank the medical staff at Arsenal, the NHS paramedics, hospital staff and surgeons who, through their skill and early response, were of such help.
No return date has been given because of the severity of the injury and
will have to deal with Jimenez absence and make do in Christmas.
Wolves performed magnificently and got over Arsenal with first-half goals from Pedro Neto and Daniel Podence and they see themselves sitting in sixth place of the Premier League table, while the Gunners are 14th.
