Sun 29 November 2020 | 19:54

Former Barcelona and Chelsea striker is motivated to play against Napoli as he believes the atmosphere at Naples would be different due to Maradona's death

Pedro wishes for

Roma

to assess their current level of performance against Napoli, however, there's a one of a kind aura in the San Paolo Stadium days after

Diego Maradona

's passing.

“This is truly a special day and has meaning for all the fans of this sport, for what this legend represented for football,” Pedro told Roma TV.

“The inheritance Maradona left us all will be a special game this evening. He was a genius and playing in this arena tonight is particularly moving. I was a little too young to see him at his peak, but I saw many videos. I want to send my condolences to his family.”

Roma could jump into the second spot with a triumph, while The Blues has lost their last two

Serie A

matches at Naples.

“It’s certainly motivating to face a great team like Napoli, also to evaluate what level we are at right now. The mentality of the side is very good and we hope to put in a strong performance this evening with three points.”
