The Chinese striker hopes to play in the next year's World Cup at the same stadium.
After being selected as the man of the match in
’s clash against Japanese clubVissel Kobe
admitted that he is highly impressed by the quality of the Al Janoub Stadium as one of the 2022 World cup venues.
“The stadium is amazing and as a player every chance to get to play in such good facilities is welcome,
“I know this [Al Janoub Stadium] is going to be a stadium for the World Cup. As a member of the Chinese national team, of course it is my dream to come back with my team here in two years for the World Cup.”
Ai Kasen was called up for the China national team in 2019 and became the first-ever player without Chinese ancestry to have been selected for this team. He has played in all of China’s world cup qualifiers and admits that qualifying for the next year’s World Cup is a tough project for China.
“We know we have a tough road ahead,”
said Ai Kesen.
“It is going to be very difficult but we don’t want to give up and we still want to continue to dream.”
China are currently in second place in the Group A table of the Asian qualifiers as they have managed to collect seven points from four matches. They will be playing a crucial game against the Philippines which will potentially decide the ultimate standings of the group.
