Guardiola confirms Aguero injury as it keeps the striker out

Guardiola is hopeful that his striker will return to action before the trip to Porto.

, who suffered a knee injury, will back to the squad before

Manchester City

’s trip to Porto.

 The prolific South American has only appeared in competitions just four times.

 He has only played 111 minutes in the

Premier League

and his last game was a 1-1 draw with

Wes Ham

on October 24.

 He was absent once again in a clash against

Burney

that Guardiola teking no chances on an injury-ravaged star.

 Tough challenges will face Manchester City and the coach is hopeful to have Augero back in the coming days.

  When he was asked for a fitness update: he said

: “Sometimes it is just a reaction on the knee. It is swollen. Hopefully tomorrow [Sunday] he can come back to training.

 

“Now it is three days then another one. We have to travel and prepare fully.”

 

The City will face

Porto

on Tuesday.

 

Guardiola added:

“It was important to come back with a victory in the

Premier League

. One more game.

 

“We play a lot of games so to play 90 minutes and maintain a good level is not easy but there are always things to improve on.

 

“It's important for our people to score goals and it is a chance for them to keep playing.”
