Transfer rumors: Liverpool and Barcelona eying Ezequiel Garay

Liverpool and Barcelona are thinking about getting free agent Ezequiel Garay to beef up their damaged defense line.

The 34-year-old has left

Valencia

at the end of last season and has been without a club ever since, yet the Argentinian can offer a great deal of experience.

According to Sport outlet, the defender has been offered to the two famous European clubs as an answer for their issues at the back. 

Liverpool

has lost the resourceful Virgil van Dijk to a drawn-out injury, while Joe Gomez, Fabinho, and Trent Alexander-Arnold have likewise had fitness problems. 

Barcelona

also is facing a crisis in terms of their defensive players as Gerard Pique is out for months due to a muscle strain, joining Blaugrana's injury list alongside Samuel Umtiti, Ronald Araujo, Sergio Busquets, and Sergi Roberto. 

Seasoned center-back Garay could be a low-budget answer for the two clubs' issues as he searches for another adventure. 

Barcelona's main target is

Manchester City

This could push Barca towards signing Garay, however, they may confront rivalry from Anfield.
