Ex-Man City defender joins a Spanish 3rd division team for one game

Fri 27 November 2020 | 11:11

Former Everton and Manchester City center-back Joleon Lescott has finished the paperwork for Spanish third-division team Racing Murcia to play in their Copa del Rey face-off against Levante.

Details are vague, however, it at first creates the impression that the 38-year-old, who won two

Premier League

trophies with Cityzens and hang up his boots in 2017, has signed for Racing just to play one game.

In England, Lescott lost two FA Cup finales with

Everton

and

Manchester City

but won the league in 2011 with The Sky Blues.

Racing Murcia is as of now in the seventh spot in Group B of Group 13 in the Spanish Third Division or Segunda B. They won their first match of the season in a 4-0 victory over Lorca three weeks ago.

Levante is as of now sitting in the transfer zone in

La Liga

, two focuses from security with a game close by.

Racing will face Levante on December 16th, three days after Levante's match against Barcelona and Racing play the local derby against Ciudad de Murcia.
