City mayor urges Napoli to change their stadium’s name in memory of their legend.

Naples mayor Luigi De Magistris made


to change their stadium’s name from San Paoli to Diego Armando Maradona stadium when he passed away at the age of 60 after suffering a heart attack.

The Argentina legend was struggling with illness since the beginning of November and had a brain surgery a few days ago.

Maradona passed away earlier today and shocked all the world specially his home country Argentina and Naples.

wrote on his official Tweeter account:

"We will name the Stadio San Paolo in honor of Diego Armando Maradona!

"Diego Armando Maradona, the greatest footballer of all time, Diego has died.

"He made our people dream, he redeemed Naples with his genius.

"In 2017 Diego became our citizen of honor, Neapolitan and Argentine, you gave us joy and happiness. Naples loves you!"

Maradona led Napoli to their first Scudetto ever in 1986-87 after winning the world cup with Argentina he won the Scudetto again with Napoli in 1989-90 and then he left Italy after testing Positive for cocaine and being banned from playing football.

He played in 259 Napoli games and scored 115 goals and he became the eternal legend of the club and Naples.
