Scholes doesn’t see Martial as a good center-forward

Wed 25 November 2020 | 15:24

Scholes has criticized Martial’s performance again.

Martial

has been

Manchester’s

first choice for the number nine position recently but he hasn’t show what he was expected to and considering the competition for the spot there has been some understandable criticism around

Solskjaer’s

decisions about him.

After Martial’s latest performance in their clash against

Basaksehir

in the Champions League

Paul scholes

has talked about the French international and said that he doesn’t have the skills of a regular starter and he thinks that he hasn’t been in the proper form recently.

Cavani

on the other hand has been in a good form and has attracted attentions as Scholes kept insisting that Martial can’t be a good choice for the position.

He has talked about the matter in an interview with BT Sport:

"Martial's strength... we’ve spoke about him being a center-forward, he's not a good center-forward.

"I don’t think he's got that movement for center-forward, he's not good with his back to goal. But when he gets the ball and he's facing someone, it's a different position. You see him going at someone.

"Definitely. He's a little bit moody and you see him. But once he gets a goal there's every chance he'll go on to get three or four."
