Richards is impressed by USMNT players in Europa

Wed 25 November 2020 | 13:13

Richards talks about USMNT players showing good quality in European clubs.

After two American players were included in

Barcelona’s

starting lineup Manchester City’s former player

Micah Richards

said he would like to see

USMNT

win a

World Cup

someday.

Richards is impressed by American players’ performance in clubs all around the Europa as Barcelona became the second club since 2004 to have two American players play for them in a

UCL

match.

There are seven American players in the Champions League this season and all of them are younger than 23 years. This has been another point of interest for Richards in his interview with CBS Sports.

"It's great to see,We're in a time where Americans have not really been given the respect, and now they've got all these young players at top clubs, but not just sitting on the bench or in the squads they are actually making an impact and that's what we like to see.

"Dest, De la Fuente, it's just brilliant to see because they deserve the respect now, and they've got some real good talent.

"I want to see them translate what they're doing at club football to the national team as well because I want to see America win a World Cup!

"Now that they've got some top players – Pulisic is my guy, you know he's a real superstar. We get to see him week in, week out. What a player, what a guy."

Pulisic

didn’t play on his side’s Tuesday’s clash against Rennes due to his injury but he will be back for

Chelsea’s

Premier League fixture against

Tottenham

.
