Sassuolo has had a great performance this season. De Zerbi talks about his team conditions.
The head coach of Sassuolo claimed that Domenico Berardi rejected the Juventus's offer because ‘he wants to have fun’ and he feels comfortable in Sassuolo.
Sassuolo is in second place with 18 points from 8 matches and they have done a fantastic job this season with young players like Jeremy Boga and Manuel Locatelli.
“We brought them here very young. We had the chance to bring them here outright and now they are huge assets of our club,” De Zerbi told Tiki Taka.
Berardi joined Juventus from Sassuolo in 2013 but returned immediately to Neroverdi.
De Zerbi said the 26-year-old striker turned down an offer from Juventus because he ‘wants to have fun’.
“It depends on what a player wants. I know the lad well and I know he wants to have fun,” De Zerbi added. “I have to kick him off the pitch after every training, because he looks like a child in the park.
“If this is what he wants, then he was right not to go. But if he was aiming for career and ambition, he was wrong.”
There were rumours that De Zerbi would go to the Olympique Lyonnais, but he denied this.
“I don’t know anything, you have to ask whoever wrote this,” he added. “I don’t want to think about anything else [than Sassuolo].
“I’m fine here and that’s not clichés.”
