Kovac praises Fabregas’s performance against PSG

Monaco’s coach hailed the Spaniard after their 3-2 win over PSG.

Cesc Fabregas

was praised by his

Monaco

manager Niko Kovac after his outstanding 45 minutes performance against

Paris Saint-Germain

. The 33-year-old who was benched for the first-half turned the tables around in the second-half with their 3-2 win over Ligue 1 leaders.

Though

Kylian Mbappe

gave PSG an advantage by scoring a brace in the first-half, Monaco were lucky enough to shift the game by displaying a different performance on the second 45 minutes.

"He's a real professional and a good human being," said Kovac about the player. "It's not easy for a coach to leave him on the bench. When he's a substitute he respects my choice even if it upsets him. He's 33, young players can learn a lot from him, and we really need him."

Fabregas also talked about his performance with the hope of being one of the starting players on their next match.

"I know that I can play matches like that," he said. "I've got the experience; I know my qualities and I'm calm. I work a lot and when I have the chance, it's important to do what I did today.”

"It's difficult for PSG. They have a lot of players who came back late from international duty and they play in the Champions League against RB Leipzig on Tuesday. They struggled to click into gear, and we took advantage."
