Barcelona announced two injury updates for Gerard Pique and Sergi Roberto. Both players found themselves in pain during their La Liga loss against Atletico Madrid at Spain's capital on Saturday night.
Barcelona’s medical team gave a statement published by Diario Sport:
has a sprain in his right knee, more tests are pending to learn the exact extent of the injury.
Also on Barca's left-back:
has a muscle injury in the rectus femoris of his right thigh. More tests are pending to learn the exact extent of the injury
Pique's discomfort looked awful given the way he left the pitch, which leaves The Blaugrana fans worried. If that is simply a muscle strain, as reported in the underlying diagnosis, the seasoned defender could miss only two months, however, in the worst-case scenario surgery is fundamental it very well rule him out somewhere in the range of four to six months.
Sergio Roberto's case is less worrisome, however, it adds to a developing rundown of losses at Camp Nou. The two defenders will be out alongside Ronald Araujo,
