Paul Parker finds Grealish's comparison to Iniesta and Gasquin ridiculous.
Former England international Paul Parker believes it is ridiculous to compare Jack Grealish with Paul Gascoigne and Andres Iniesta.
The 25-year-old Aston Villa star has performed well at his club this season. That good performance has led to his being called up to the England national team and his brilliant performances in the Three Lions shirt. He played against Ireland, Belgium, and Iceland and was able to attract a lot of attention. Many expect him to become England's main playmaker in the years to come.
Some have compared him to Paul Gascoigne, and some have likened him to Andres Iniesta, but Parker disagrees.
England former right-back told Eurosport: “As a country, we have created this idea of ‘Jack Grealish is going to be the greatest ever English player'. Where has that come from? It’s absolutely ridiculous.
“I just don’t get the hype around him to be perfectly honest. Then you get the ones who come up and say ‘ah, he reminds us of Gazza’. Please don’t do that now when you see games against Republic of Ireland and Belgium... when we’re 2-0 down and he’s running around and wants to have around 35 touches to then pass the ball to somebody.
