Pedri thankful to Real Madrid for rejecting him

Pedri expressed gratitude toward Real Madrid for not marking him, saying he's in the place where he needed to be, Barcelona.

The 17-year-old joined the

Catalans

from

Las Palmas

in July and has scored twice in 10 matches for Barca this season.

Be that as it may, it might have been diverse for the youngster, Real Madrid said no to signing him after a preliminary.

Pedri

, a Spain youth international, said he was happy to be dismissed by Barca's opponents.

"I went to test with

Real Madrid

but they told me I didn't have the level," he told Cadena SER on Monday.

"I thank the one who told me I was not worth it, now I am in the team that I have always loved."

Barcelona fans see their team sitting at eighth in the LaLiga table, nine points behind front-runners

Real Sociedad

, despite the fact that they have played two fewer games.

Pedri, who has played three games in the league this season, is appreciating the chance of playing with six-time Ballon d'Or champ Lionel Messi.

"Of course I dreamed of playing with Messi, like many children," he said.

Barcelona's next battle is against

Atletico Madrid

on Saturday away fixture.
